@annmagnuson said in Cannot select other calendar type than local:
fter setting up a basic local calendar I wanted to add a web calendar. So I followed the instructions found on this page
Update: Now I know what I did wrong. In the Calendar pane, you can create a new calendar account, or you can create a new calendar in an existing account. I guess I didn't see that the first time. To create a web calendar I need to create a new account. After clicking on '+' to create a new calendar, I get options to select calendar type.
Just chipping in with that I have the same experience.
To make sure my issues were not due to something in the cache etc I have also done a reinstall by wiping the settings ( .config/vivaldi & .cache/vivaldi ) and set it up again. I still experience the same calendar issue (my server also utilizes SoGo if that could be a common denominator ).

An old buglet has returned
I cannot reproduce this issue.
OK. Tks for follow up but I'm going to report it as a bug anyway since I cannot un-produce this issue 🙂
@jon said in Updating/changing appointment in Vivalidi Calendar:
@janrifkinson , what do you mean? It has been fixed in the next snapshot, not the current one. We tested it internally and we could reproduce the issue in the current build, but not anymore in the latest internal. We just need to get it in your hands. 🙂
@jon I think our correspondence was out of sync. I was answering your question -- if the problem existed after program re-start.
You were too fast fixing it. All is well. Thank you.
There was a change (fix for VB-79722 reported by WildEnte) accepted on Friday that should fix this, if I understand the issue correctly. Having trouble figuring out exactly if it made it to main branch but it should have and then be included in coming builds. If the problem persists after next upgrade please tag me here so I can follow up on it.
I also cannot scroll, only saw this now because I usually use the panel where there is no problem. But for me it still works for version 3.8, only the new snapshot is broken.
I have written bug report VB-79722
@Gwen-Dragon said in Google Task not showing up in Vivaldi - Mystery:
@janrifkinson Yes, i can confirm that.
For me helped to select the Calendars list and refresh, then the added task from Google Calendar appeared.
@Gwen-Dragon Thank you.
Just to be clear, I am to refresh calendar list on vivaldi side daily to see if I have any Google task items? That's an interesting workaround but should it be reported as a mini-bug?
@janrifkinson Add as Calendar Event will try to populate the URL field of the event with the page URL, which is obviously not producing useful data in your case. Could you file a bug for this issue, with some info on the page you are adding the event from?
@ChrisGancarczyk You should be able to send invitation to any email address that you like, no limitation posed by Vivaldi Calendar.
If the participants do not receive the email it is possible that the emails have been filtered by spam filters or similar protection. They might want to check spam folders.
You can also check in your Vivaldi Mail sent folder where the sent messages should be, or possibly in outbox if there was a problem (or setting) preventing them from being sent.
If none of this reveals some external problem please report back and we will do our best to resolve this.
@steelie Importing data from a spreadsheet to Vivaldi can be done in up to 3 ways, and unfortunately none of them is easy and reliable.
Manually creating the events, which is a huge amount of work for this big list
Using a .CSV to iCalendar (.ics) converter. There seem to be a number of such converters available with varying quality, one example is https://manas.tungare.name/software/csv-to-ical/ I have not used it so I don't know how well it works and there can be some work to create correct .csv format. This is probably the best method though. Steps needed are
Export spreadsheet to correct .csv format
Convert .csv to .ics using converter
Import .ics to Vivaldi, using import command in File menu
Importing the spreadsheet to some calendar and then from there into Vivaldi, either by export or using sync to a server. Don't know of an example of calendar software that can import spreadsheet directly.
Would love to be able to give better alternatives, but they are not available at this time.
@WildEnte Thank you for the detailed post. Nice to see that you care enough for the product to take the time to write it up.
We do read the forum, even if it may be a little un-frequently at times. But issues reported are welcome, especially for flat out bugs like that one with clipping of the dropdown and the numbers in the date input fields. Feel free to post also those that you see as suggestions or minor glitches it is more likely they'll be noticed there. A quick search to see if the issue is already there is appreciated. Those tickets might be handled with a little less priority and since we are a small team it can take a while to get to them.
And finally your first suggestion about a quick way to navigate to September 2028 (or even some other period) is being worked on right now so it should be arriving soon.
Thanks again, this is much appreciated.
