@dmocek Is a Tech Preview limitation. Mail can be only on the main window at the moment.

M2 users who [presumably] have had an easy time adopting to the M3 paradigm & workflow.
I used to use and like M2, though it's been several years now. I continued to use it after opera went down. It was the first I knew of with virtual folders.
But M3's folder structure and mail handling is a horse of a different color. A mailer without a (common) Inbox is like an OS without a functioning desktop. It demands a radical change in mail handling habits, and I fail to see any upside.
Just a note. This has also changed...
Now the placeholder should be used if it's not filled out.
The checkmark is also taken away for manual input and only shown if the autoconfig put something there.
We rather we show an error in the correct field if something is missing.

Again thank you for using Vivaldi.
Thank you for your kind words. It was difficult to write and expose in such a public way.. I have PTSD from everything that happened.

@TbGbe said in mail panel doesnt open:
@npro Mail Reset should not be needed, the "fix" for old profiles was in an earlier snapshot so should be in stable??
I thought so too, but seems it's not 🙂
However, stable will not get future updates for mail etc as it's still "experimental" - better to try it in snapshot only.
I know that from the very first time that particular snapshot was released but as I said:
@npro said in Vivaldi improves tabs and media playback, adds sharing of URLs with QR codes:
@Ruarí depends on user's usage I assume. As a simple mail solution current state is more than enough, Snapshots are bound with other potential problems by definition, I'm not sure a new/casual user would want them.
I'd say "get a glimpse now, wait 1-2 months for the stable version of it", unless... it will take much more than that 😱 😉
/edit: alright, fixed with another method, if anyone needs to try just ping me.
@burnout426 said in Where Is the "Don't ask again" Setting for the Delete Message Dialog Stored?:
I'll test to see if they change when checking "don't ask".
Okay. it does change that setting. Thanks.
M3 definitely needs some UI work in this area, including the descriptions. It shouldn't be asking me anything in the first place. It should just be moving the message from the IMAP folder it's in to the IMAP trash folder (via copy to the IMAP trash folder, then marking the original as \Deleted and then UID-expunging the original that's marked as \Deleted). It shouldn't be doing anything to copies in other folders (except for Gmail IMAP, where the server does things to other copies because that's the way GMAIL IMAP works in that case, but it's not something the UI should describe in this case) and shouldn't be doing anything to other accounts. Definitely strange.
