@gmg said in Limits on Compounded Filters -- Yes or no?:
@janrif I don't know of any limit
Maybe I haven't tried adding enough...?
How many do you have now?
.....wondering if you came across anything that limit filters?
BTW:
Filter > Action > Label is a god send; thank you!
Email load time infinitely improved w parallel threads; thank you.
@tarfoin welcome to the forum!
This should be a known bug, I have filed the related bug
(VB-80288) Umlaut in IMAP folder name broken in "permanently delete" dialog
The client is certainly getting closer to M2 level!
I am also affected by this (from the start, I think) and for one (my main gmail) account reruning the filter does not fix this.
Has anybody ever submitted a bug report?
Is there a way to somehow display only unseen e-mails? I would be curious which e-mails are unseen according to Vivaldi. But maybe the number of unseen e-mails is just virtual.
@wildente Thanks for all the time you have spent trying to help with this problem. As you have raised a couple of bug reports, and the bug isn't causing me a big problem, I will wait and see if it is fixed in a future update. Thanks again for your help.
@webaschtl if you're talking about the Vivaldi BROWSER on your desktop, with its own contacts application, no: they are NOT synchronizable with a CardDav solution and this really sucks, as Vivaldi mail (mail.vivaldi.net) actually implements a CardDav solution(!)
So, what you can do ON YOUR SMARTPHONE, is to upload your contacts to a @Vivaldi.net account of your own, then you can synchronize your online CardDav contacts of your Vivaldi.net account, with your Android SMARTPHONE, with DAVX5, but you will not have any of those contacts, into Vivaldi Desktop Browser contacts "app".
Which, really, sucks.
@burnout426 nope, the problem is apparently with my age old Opera 12.18 profile (and I assume we all have very old Opera M2 profiles...). With a completely fresh standalone installation of Opera 12.18, downloading the 5GB messages fresh from my IMAP server and importing into a fresh standalone Vivaldi 5.2 stable, no false unread messages appear.
So I tried again with my standard Opera 12.18 mail DB which I am just using since forever, and the issue with wrong Unread states appears. So my hypothesis is that over the years my mail profile in Opera 12.18 has some borkedness to it, maybe because of a crash here or there, or updating my OS from XP over Vista over Win7 over Win10 to now Win 11 and copying over the mail folder each time... who knows. I suggest to close the bug report but to work on making import as tolerant to borked Opera profiles as possible.
@coolmyll I have exactly the same problem using Vivaldi on the desktop Mac OS. Closing a tab and returning to Mail opens the panel. It's very annoying, if you have an email with a list of links which you are opening in new tabs, to have to close the panel each time you return to Mail.
Reviving this thread. The same is happening to me since enabling the mail. Single IMAP account with just a few thousand mails in. I doubt that it is indexing after few months still. There is no CPU load.
browsing is slow
UI response is slow everywhere - closing opening browser tabs, buttons, typing ... sometimes it takes 5 seconds to send an e-mail after clicking, sometimes the clock does not get registered at all, same with other UI elements
running some processor intensive website pretty much renders the whole browser useless
restart has only temporary effect
may be (very may be) I observer worsening when my internet connection got slower temporarily - in theory could be some blocking calls that rely on the comm to mail server?
Vivaldi on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS with KDE. Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8365U CPU @ 1.60GHz
@ghpy they are still working to stabilize even more essential email functions, the ones that have to do with getting actual email working right, import from other clients, filtering, searching, assigning labels and moving between imap folders etc. I would argue that contact management is also more essential than printing emails, which is not to say that printing should not be addressed at some point.
As a workaround, you could try using the built in Screenshot tool...?
Do you have more than one Vivaldi window open? Mail can currently only exist in the first browser window you open. If a notification is opened by another window, you will get an error. This might be the case here.
One of those beta issues...
